JobKeeper Payment announced by the Australian Government

Please find few important notes on the new JobKeeper Payment announced by the Australian Government yesterday. This is not Legislated yet.  The JobKeeper payment is intended to help businesses affected by COVID – 19 to cover the cost of their employee wages and keep them employed.

Australian Government's economic response to the coronavirus

Technical Update: Australian States deliver economic stimulus packages in response to coronavirus including tax measures. On 12 March 2020, the Australian Government released its economic response to the coronavirus (COVID-19). The ATO also released a series of administrative concessions for taxpayers.

Virus stimulus package to deliver economic boost

In response to the Coronavirus crisis, the Federal Government has outlined new measures in a stimulus package worth nearly $18 billion. SMEs, pensioners and selected sectors such as tourism will be the biggest beneficiaries in an effort to boost the economy and save jobs.

Individuals affected by the coronavirus can access up to $10,000 of their superannuation in 2019-20 and a further $10,000 in 2020-21. You will be able to apply for early release of your superannuation from 20 April 2020. While superannuation helps people save for retirement.
